Fake AI claims are everywhere, and it has also entered the construction estimating industry
A short list of 3 very famous (infamous) examples

Fake AI claims in construction estimating
Now, we also have a bunch of construction estimating companies that have raised a lot of money as well, that are selling AI based estimating services.
Their pitch at the front end is an expensive AI estimating software subscription; however they also say that an estimator will “check the takeoff” before giving the final estimate to the client.
We have interviewed people who have worked (or are working) in these firms and they confirm that "all the work is done by the estimator" and the "AI software doesn’t really work." In fact they are using traditional estimating software like Planswift, OST, Bluebeam etc.
Why is it a problem for you?
Apart from the fact that they are lying, these firms charge significantly more money and their estimates are more likely to contain errors than traditional companies providing construction takeoff / estimating services.
